“Gurning Man” will take place in a a secret location on November 4
Rave organisers Bush Buzz have announced an upcoming event at a “secret location” in Dublin.
“Gurning Man” will take place on November 4, with a lineup of DJs including E The Artist, Mooncup, and Arvq.
Louis Selecta, Siofselects and Pixieteeth will also feature, with music “ranging from glitch-core, hardcore and footwork to UK garage, gabber and dubstep.”
Bush Buzz is taking donations to support transport and rental of equipment for events. Any surplus funds from donations will be put toward the next Bush Buzz rave.
Tickets for Gurning Man are free and can be purchased through Eventbrite.
Self-described as “a goblin-run non-profit rave institutor”, Bush Buzz is a Dublin-based organiser “motivated in the pursuit of renovating the Irish rave scene nationwide”.
The group aims to offer a free-entry safe space for people to enjoy nightlife “without a three o’clock curfew”.
Under current licensing laws in Ireland, nightclubs must obtain a Special Exemption Order to remain open past 2.30am, and cannot operate after these hours in any circumstances.
In July, Bush Buzz organised “Pissco” in Galway, a rave featuring Rory Sweeney, E The Artist, Asa Nisi Masa, and Lychee. Also held in a secret location, the organisers described the event as a “violent disco” parodying popular Galway silent disco Sisco.
